A score of 5 or more is recommended for use of the test as a diagnostic screening tool to replace nerve conduction studies (NCS). (1)

When the score was more than or equal to 5, 90% of patients had a positive NCS. (2)

A score of less than 3 correlated 100% to negative NCS. Only patients with a score of 3 or 4 and with equivocal signs and symptoms should undergo NCS. (2)
